I’ve been writing a series recently about teaching different subjects using board games. We’ve already done a math edition and a language arts edition. Today we will be exploring the different science board games.

Science can be difficult for some children (and adults…guilty). But if you make science a fun game, the learning just comes naturally. Board games help children learn through play but also strengthen family relationships. I will list the name of the game, a link to purchase the game (just click on the name and you will be redirected), the age recommendations, and what type of science the game teaches.

Science Board Games:

  1. Cytosis– this game is recommended for ages 10 and up. It teaches cellular biology (parts of a cell and what they do).
  2. Science Ninjas– this game is recommended for ages 7 and up. It focuses on chemistry, elements, and molecules.
  3. Into The Forest– this game is recommended for ages 7 and up. This game teaches all about the food chain using animals and nature.
  4. Robot Turtles– this game is recommended for ages 4 and up. It teaches programming and coding.
  5. Professor Noggin’s Life in the Ocean– this game is recommended for ages 7 and up with various skill levels available. It focuses on trivia about ocean life.
  6. Virulence– this game is recommended for ages 8 and up. It teaches about biology and how viruses work.
  7. Herd Your Horses– this game is recommended for ages 8 and up. It focuses on biology and horse breeds.
  8. Gravity Maze– this game is recommended for ages 8 and up. It is a game of logic that also teaches STEM as well.
  9. Subatomic– this game is recommended for ages 8 and up. It teaches particle physics and chemistry.
  10. Pi and the Planets Game– this game is recommended for ages 4 and up. It teaches about space and the placement of the planets in the solar system.

These are just a few of our favorites. There are hundreds more science games to be played. Science can be so much fun for the whole family as you all gather to play these games. Join me next week as we explore board games involving history. My favorite topic!
