We find ourselves in the midst of uncertain times.  Every day there is something discouraging on the news, always something going on–from viruses to injustice, from social distancing to riots, all laced with panic, rage and fear–a nasty combination.

No matter where we find ourselves on the issues of the day, no matter where we live or who we know, as Believers–followers of Christ–our response should be one that puts God at the center, that seeks Him first. He is the ultimate answer to those things ail us, whether physically, spiritually, emotionally, socially–whatever.  He is the answer.

Here is what we know to be true:

God gives peace.

You will keep him in perfect peace,

Whose mind is stayed on You,

Because he trusts in You.

Isaiah 26:3

God is love.

And we have known and believed

the love that God has for us.

God is love, and he who abides in love

abides in God, and God in him.

1 John 4:16

God is our healer.

For I will restore health to you

and heal you of your wounds,’

says the LORD…

Jeremiah 30:17

God brings unity.

Walk worthy of the calling

with which you were called,

with all lowliness and gentleness,

with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,

endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit

in the bond of peace.

Ephesians 4:1-3

So as children of God, we must behave like our Father, in peace, love, healing and unity. Lift each other up. Encourage one another. Pray for each other. Check in with each other and ask, “How are you today?” “How can I pray for you?” “Is there something you need help with?” Ask for forgiveness and forgive. Continue to believe in God who is more than capable to handle all of what is going on. He is in control.

Oh, taste and see

that the Lord is good;

Blessed is the man

who trusts in Him!

Psalm 34:8

And we know that all things

work together for good

to those who love God,

to those who are the called

according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28
