Children frequently equate love with time. Time is their primary love language. So, whether you homeschool or not, make sure you carve out time to spend together, unplugged, and fully engaged!
For the homeschool family, its’ foundation IS the strength of the family. It is vital to sow into those relationships to keep them strong and healthy. Nothing can take the place of spending time fully focused on your spouse and your children! It is an investment that will reap rewards in the days to come and make memories for a lifetime.
For us, it is a welcomed interruption to our usual routine. A chance to take some much needed time to enjoy one another’s company and a little friendly competition as well! Circumstances happened where Dad joined us on a rare outing that came from receiving a deep discount to a local attraction. Joyfully we accepted!
“A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.”
Proverbs 15:13 NKJV
Meaningful outings do not need to drain your wallet. Free outings, such as trips to the park can be just as wonderful. Pray, relax and seek activities that will connect you and your children. Smile, laugh and enjoy! Just remember to turn those electronic devices off and engage in the fun, action, memories and conversation!
“A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.”
Proverbs 17:22 NKJV
