Many people have a hard time teaching their kids to read. It seems like it would be a simple thing, but when you actually try to do it, you and your child often both get frustrated.

It’s very easy to ruin the joy of reading for a child when all you’re doing is trying to instill a love for the activity. Luckily there is an easy way to do it!

I have successfully taught 4 kids to read so far (6 if you count kids I taught when I was younger). How did I do it? Phonics! I am NOT a fan of “sight words”, as I believe that all sight words do is get children to memorize certain words, without any skills to determine what other words say. I’ve never used sight words to teach anyone how to read. I just don’t like them, it’s that simple!
