The winter months can seem long and exhausting with little kids in the house. Especially on days that are too cold or the weather is too bad to go outside. In the warmer months, I usually send my children outside for a good portion of the day. Winter gets too cold for going outside where I live.

In the hustle and bustle of the busy summer months, reconnecting as a family is priority. Every family is different in the type of activities they enjoy pursuing together, and it seems sometimes we get into a routine-a dull, predictable routine—doing the same activity week after week. I encourage you to think outside the box! As a family, at least once this summer (or aim for once a week!) plan a new activity.

Around our office you hear talk of trying new vegetables and there are more than a couple seed catalogs in the lunchroom.
