I want to make sure my kids are prepared when they move out. Part of that is knowing how to cook. We like to keep Home Ec as an informal class, learning through day to day life & experience, not formal lessons & textbooks. So, they each make one family meal each week. This week, my daughter is making Chicken Taco Bake. My son won’t be doing his entirely on his own this week. He’s making Turkey Chili with me, from scratch (he hasn’t ever made homemade tomato sauce, which is why we’re doing this one together).
They’ve been in the kitchen with me since they were toddlers, so it’s not like I just threw them in with no warning or experience.

So, how do you handle getting the kids in the kitchen?
