Training our children is so time consuming. I am reminded of the scripture that says a man must count the cost before he builds a tower else he’ll be ridiculed for not completing it. Now I know this verse is talking about our decision to give up all and follow Jesus but it is a principle that applies to any project we take on. We need to count the cost.
There is a cost of raising morally responsible children who desire to love and serve the Lord. That cost is time. I wrote in my newsletter this weekend: We should never be too busy or occupied to train our children’s hearts: that needs to be our number one focus. Are we prepared to take the time that this will require?
